Introduction of the Mass Participation Events of the National Games for Persons with Disabilities
The National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) of the People’s Republic of China, normally held every four years, are national multi-sport games featuring sports events under the International Paralympic Committee. The upcoming NGD, being the 12th edition, are co-organised by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and the General Administration of Sport of China, and will be conducted in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
The 12th NGD will cover a total of 37 sports, 11 of which are mass participation events, including table tennis, badminton, darts, Chinese chess, go, para dance sport, rope skipping, deaf basketball (3-on-3), deaf futsal, floor curling and roller skiing.
Awards
(1) Group events: The top eight winners will be awarded. If there are less than eight participating groups, all will be awarded.
(2) Team events: The top eight winners will be awarded. If there are less than eight participating teams, the number of winners will be that of the participating teams minus one.
(3) Various competition events: The top three winners will be presented with gold/silver/bronze medals and certificates, while those winning other ranks will be presented with certificates. Those who have broken the world record will be presented with additional certificates.
Athlete Selection
Relevant national sports associations/organisations will conduct free-of-charge athlete selection exercises, so as to select eligible athletes to represent the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in the mass participation events of the 12th NGD.
