The 14th National Games of the People’s Republic of China (14th National Games) is organised by the General Administration of Sport of China and being held in Shaanxi Province from 15 to 27 September 2021. Held every four years, the National Games is the highest-level multi-sports event in our country. Elite athletes from different provinces, cities and the Special Administrative Regions will gather in Shaanxi Province to compete in the 14th National Games.
There are a total of 35 competition events in the 14th National Games, including swimming (swimming, marathon swimming, diving, artistic swimming, water polo), archery, athletics, badminton, basketball (5-on-5 basketball, 3-on-3 basketball), boxing, canoeing (sprint, kayak slalom), cycling (road race, track, mountain bike, BMX), equestrian (eventing, dressage, jumping), fencing, football, golf, gymnastics (artistic gymnastics, trampoline, rhythmic gymnastics), handball, hockey, judo, modern pentathlon, rowing, rugby (rugby sevens), sailing, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball (volleyball, beach volleyball), weightlifting, wrestling (freestyle, Greco-Roman), baseball/softball (baseball, softball), karatedo, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, wushu (taolu, sanda) and breaking.
Sports-for-all events, consisting of competitions and demonstrations, will be organised by the 14th National Games under the concept of “National Games bring benefit to people”. The 15 competition events include table tennis, badminton, tennis, football, basketball, light volleyball, shuttlecock, roller sports, dragon boating, bocce ball, go, Chinese chess, chess, bridge, Chinese wrestling. The four demonstration events include square dance, broadcast gymnastics, health qigong and Tai Chi.
The opening ceremony and closing ceremony of the 14th National Games will be held at the stadium and sports centre of the Xian Olympic Sports Complex on 15 and 27 September 2021 respectively.
