Salary:
Part Time Assistant Camp Counsellor(i) Per session $359 (Working hour
[Note1]: 08:15–22:30 (7 hours or more))
(ii) Per session $228 (Working hour
[Note1]: 08:15–22:30 (4 hours or more))
Part-time Official
Per hour $78 (Working hour[Note1]: 08:15–22:30)

Entry Requirements:
Part Time Assistant Camp Counsellor
Candidates should:
(a) be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident aged 18 or above;
(b) have attained an education level of Form 3, or equivalent; and
(c) an average command of spoken and written Chinese.
Possession of the following will be an advantage:
(a) be able to work on public holidays or to serve the session from 1530hrs to 2230hrs;
(b) basic knowledge of organising recreation and sports programmes and relevant experience;
(c) an average command of spoken English, a basic command of Putonghua;
(d) knowledge of Chinese and English word processing and general software applications (such as Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint);
(e) a valid life-saving certificate / first aid certificate; and
(f) experience in volunteer services.
Part-time Official
Candidates should:
(a) be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident aged 18 or above;
(b) complete Secondary 5 and Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note2], or equivalent;
(c) knowledge of Chinese and English word processing and general software applications (such as Microsoft Word/Excel); and
(d) an average command of spoken and written Chinese.
Possession of the following will be an advantage:
(a) be able to serve the session from 1530hrs to 2230hrs;
(b) basic knowledge of organizing recreation and sports programmes and relevant experience;
(c) an average command of spoken English, a basic command of Putonghua;
(d) a valid life-saving certificate / first aid certificate; and
(e) experience in volunteer services.
[Note2: For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in the same subjects in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.]
Duties:
Part Time Assistant Camp Counsellor
(a) To assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes;
(b) To lead campers participating activities, such as handicraft, orienteering and night events;
(c) To provide support services for recreation and sports programmes, such as collating and compiling statistics, liaising with collaborating parties, arranging for equipment and materials required for the programmes;
(d) To handle general enquiries; and
(e) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officer.
Part-time Official
(a) To assist in the preparation, promotion and implementation of recreation and sports programmes and SmartPLAY project;
(b) To perform general clerical duties;
(c) To provide support services for recreation and sports programmes and SmartPLAY promotion programmes, demonstration and related activities, such as collating and compiling statistics, liaising with collaborating parties, arranging for equipment and materials required for the programmes;
(d) To assist the public to register as users and use of the SmartPLAY system and devices;
(e) To assist in crowd control, daily operation and contingency arrangement;
(f) To handle enquiries and complaints from campers on matter of SmartPLAY system and general enquiries; and
(g) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officer.
Working Hours:
Dependent on operational needs. May be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Working Location:
a) Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre, Lady Maclehose Holiday Village or related working locations (e.g. LCSD venues/offices or country trails nearby LCSD camps)
b) Outdoor work may be required.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. Renewal of contract will be subject to the department’s operational need and the work performance and conduct of the appointee.
