Summer Intern (Hong Kong Public Libraries) – Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2026

Salary:

$11,500 per month

Vacancies of Summer Intern in the following disciplines are available:

(A) Computer Science

(B) Chinese Language and Literature

(D) Music

(E) Arts / Art History / Cultural Studies or Arts related subject (excluding Music)

Entry Requirements:

Applicants should

1. be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;

2. be currently studying in a full-time accredited degree programme offered by a local / non-local post-secondary institution; and

3. be an undergraduate who will enter the final year of study after the summer of 2026 (final year students will not be considered).

Terms of Appointment:

Successful candidates are normally required to work 44 hours per week (including meal breaks) and may also be required to work outside normal office hours, during weekends and / or public holidays. Overtime work, where necessary, will be compensated by time-off in lieu.

(1) Applicants should download the application form from Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk/english/admin/appoint/782.html) or Leisure and Cultural Services Department's website (http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/jobs.php) and submit the following documents to hkplrecruitment@lcsd.gov.hk by email by the closing date of application:

(a) completed Application Form; and

(b) copies of certificates issued by post-secondary institutions certifying student status

Please mark the email subject with "Application for Summer Intern (Hong Kong Public Libraries)". If candidates fail to provide the above documents by email, their applications will not be considered.

(2) All applications must be submitted in accordance with the aforesaid method. Applications not made in the prescribed form or which are incomplete or late will not be considered.

(3) Each applicant should apply for a vacancy in one discipline only. Applications for the vacancies for more than one discipline will NOT be considered.

(4) If there are a large number of applications, applicants will be invited for interview only if their applications have been successfully drawn by the computer and they meet the entry requirements. Applicants who are not invited for interview by 30 June 2026 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
