Salary:
HK$42,345 per month
Entry Requirements:
(a) A bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b) Met the language proficiency requirement of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (1)];
(c) At least four years' full-time post-qualification working experience;
(d) Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English. Ability to speak Putonghua will be an advantage;
(e) Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
(f) Good knowledge in the application of common business software of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing and so on; and
(g) Working experience in project management, event management, government, statutory body or non-governmental organisation will be an advantage.
Note:(1) For non-civil service appointment purpose, 'Grade C' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' in English Language and Chinese Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) Application which did not provide all information as requested or which are not clear that the candidates have met the entry requirements will not be considered.
(3) All qualifications required should be obtained on or before the application deadline. Qualifications obtained after the application deadline will not be considered.
Duties:
(a) To assist in planning, organising and co-ordinating the territory-wide reading programmes and library outreach programmes;
(b) To assist with procurement, contract management and performance monitoring matters of service contracts for reading promotion projects;
(c) To co-ordinate with branch libraries and various parties such as the education, cultural and youth organisations, NGOs and commercial bodies for organising reading promotion activities and outreach programmes;
(d) To design, organise and implement diversified reading promotion activities and programmes and to suggest improvement or enhancement measures;
(e) To assist in management and coaching of supporting staff; and
(f) To perform any other related duties as assigned.
Note : Appointee may be required to work irregular hours and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
Fringe Benefits:
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus the Government's contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave / paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

General Notes:
