After a car accident leaves her mother Li Huanying in critical condition, Jia Xiaoling travels back in time from 2001 to 1981. Convinced her mother was unhappy because of her family life, Xiaoling seizes the chance to rewrite her fate—giving her a new husband, a new daughter, and a new life.
Comedian Jia Ling writes, directs, and stars in her debut feature, based on her popular sketch of the same name. She expands the story with tender mother-daughter moments and period details, creating a richer, more touching film.
