Short Film after the Feature

Not only is Into the Mortal World the first film to take the mythological elements of the 28 Constellation Mansions to the big screen, it’s also a re-interpretation of the famous The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl mythology. This iteration tells the story of Jinfeng, a descendent of the Weaver Girl who forms a “constellation collecting” alliance with her long-lost sister Yulu (Xiaofan). Together, they embark on an adventure that also highlights the theme of family affection.

The film originally began as a same-title graduation short film, Into the Mortal World (7′), of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) in 2020. Thanks to the hard work of over 2,000 animation artists over 5 years, the film became the first GAFA graduation film to become a commercial feature film.

Free Admission with ticket except for the Salisbury Garden screening. Free admission tickets will be distributed at Information Counter at East Kowloon Cultural Centre starting from 10am on 16 October. Each person can obtain up to two tickets per screening on a first-come, first-served basis.
