Description

In the fifth year of Emperor Taizong of Tang (851 AD), the Dunhuang messenger delegation led by Gao Jinda arrived in Chang'an. Gao Jinda presented a map he had personally drawn, bringing back the good news of the resumption of communication for the "lost" Dunhuang (Shazhou City) that had been out of contact for over half a century.

According to historical records, the envoys set out in the second year of Da Zhong (848 AD) to avoid being pursued and took a detour through the northern deserts. During the perilous and long journey, the belief of "returning home" bound the family and the country together...
