Exhibition of flower show winning photos starts today

Winning entries in the "Vibrant Blossoms for Beijing Olympics" Photo Competition of the Hong Kong Flower Show 2008, held in March at Victoria Park, are on display at an exhibition in Kowloon Park from today (June 2) until July 31. Admission to the exhibition is free.

The photo competition, jointly organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), was one of the flower show's major fringe activities to promote community greening. This year, the competition received over 5,300 entries.

The competition was divided into three categories - Category A: Portrait of TVB Artistes and Miss Hong Kong (Open Section and Student Section); Category B: Flowers; and Category C: Snapshots.

Winning entries include impressive photographs of beautiful flowers and plants, and portraits of TVB artistes and Miss Hong Kong 2007 title holders in the garden displays.

The schedule for the exhibition is as follows:

1) June 2–July 1 (9.30am–5pm)
Entrance of Green Education and
Resource Centre at Kowloon Park

2) July 2-31 (7am–11pm)
Arcade at Kowloon Park

Winning entries also have been uploaded onto LCSD's website for public viewing.

Winners will be informed by post. For enquiries, please call 2697 8030.

Ends/Monday, June 2, 2008
