Applications invited for operating stalls at Kowloon Park Arts Fun Fair

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting individuals and subvented non-governmental organisations to apply to operate stalls during the 10th phase of the Arts Fun Fair in Kowloon Park.

The new round of the Arts Fun Fair will run from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays from June 1, 2008, to May 31, 2009. A total of 30 stalls will be set up at Kowloon Park Loggia selling handicrafts and offering arts services such as photography, painting, calligraphy and sketching.

Interested parties can submit their applications from tomorrow (April 7) to April 25. The forms are available on 1/F, Kowloon Park Management Office, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

Completed application forms should be submitted together with copies of relevant proof of professional knowledge in respective fields (if any) and samples of artworks or handicrafts (not more than three pieces) to the Kowloon Park Management Office before 6.15pm on April 25.

The Arts Fun Fair Vetting Panel comprises members of the Yau Tsim Mong District Council and representatives of the Leisure Services Branch and Cultural Services Branch of the LCSD. Applications will be considered according to the variety, quality, creativeness, artistic merit and attractiveness of the arts services or handicrafts as well as relevant professional skills of the applicants.

Each successful applicant is required to pay a registration fee of $100 and a security deposit of $1,000. The security deposit will be forfeited if the stall operator runs the stall for less than 60% of the total business days of the agreement, or if the agreement is terminated due to failure to fulfill its terms. Successful applicants are each required to effect and keep in force public liability insurance with an indemnity of a minimum of $6.5 million during the agreement period.

For enquiries, please call 2724 3344.
