Overall champions of Corporate Games 2007

After Corporate Games 2007's fierce contests over the past few months involving some 8000 people from various trades and businesses, the overall champions who were born received their trophies at Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Centre today (January 13).

Officiating at today's Prize Presentation Ceremony, the Chief Leisure Manager (Major Events) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), Mrs Kane Li, said, "The Corporate Games is one of the major sports activities organised by the LCSD annually to encourage public participation in sports with a view to nurturing a healthy and vibrant community."

"The fact that 273 organisations fielded some 8000 athletes in the Corporate Games 2007, the 18th Corporate Games, signified that the Games were greatly supported by the industrial, commercial and public sectors," she said.

Participating organisations are divided into Group A - Organisations employing 300 people or more in Hong Kong, Group B – Organisations employing less than 300 and Group C - Government departments, and the overall champions of the Corporate Games 2007 were Wayfoong Sports Club, Ho Tin Sports Asssociation and the Hong Kong Police Force respectively.

Between September 2007 and January 2008, the athletes competed in 13 sports: swimming, track & field, distance run, indoor rowing, badminton, table tennis, tennis, 7-a-side soccer, 11-a-side soccer, basketball, volleyball, snooker and tenpin bowling. A photo contest was also organised in order to capture the memorable moments of the Games.
