Free outdoor programme features flamenco and belly dance

Exotic flamenco and belly dancers will perform at the Piazza of Hong Kong Cultural Centre on Friday (October 19) and Saturday (October 20) from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. The free outdoor programme is part of the Mediterranean Arts Festival organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Clara Ramona from the United States will perform with band Yerbaguena (the Philippines) Spanish classical dance and Flamenco. She will demonstrate the various flamenco styles and rhythms, expressing different emotions through flamenco dance. Also coming from the United States, belly dancers Susan Frankovich and Tamalyn Dallal will perform a tribal belly dance and traditional belly dance, showing audiences a passionate performing art.

Mey Jen Tillyer and the members of the Oasis Dance Centre will take audiences on a mystical belly dance journey from Turkey with Gypsy dances, continuing to Egypt with flirtatious dances and end with vivacious earthly dances from Macribe, North Africa.

Roving artists, magician, musicians and stilt walkers dressed in costume will walk around the Piazza, bringing fun and entertainment to the public.
