Entries are now invited from the public for the Mid-Autumn Lantern Design Competition 2007.
The competition is jointly organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Education Bureau to promote the craft of lantern-making and to arouse public interest in traditional Chinese arts.
The competition comprises three divisions: primary school; secondary school; and the open division for tertiary students and amateurs. Primary and secondary students should submit entry forms through their schools.
The open division is now calling for entries. Interested people should send their entry forms to the department's Entertainment Office, 6/F, Queen Elizabeth Stadium, 18 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai or by fax to 2575 0864 by July 20.

The handmade lanterns with completed official labels should be submitted to the Exhibition Gallery, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay between September 12 and 14 from 10am to 7pm.

All winners will be awarded certificates of merit and other prizes. Three grand prizes will also be awarded to those with distinguished designs: the lantern of best visual effect, the most inspirational lantern and the lantern with the most creative design.
All lanterns will be displayed at the Exhibition Gallery, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library from September 20 to 29.
