Small amount of free tickets for LCSD museum open days still available
**********************************************************

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) offers free admission to its normally fee-charging museums on 1 and 2 July. Starting from June 24, free admissions tickets are available at 34 URBTIX outlets.

The spokesman for LCSD said today (June 26) that the free admission tickets for the Museum of Art (The Pride of China: Masterpieces of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy of the Jin, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties from the Palace Museum), Science Museum (Soaring Dinosaurs: Chinese Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Life) and the Exhibition Halls as well as the Stanley Ho Space Theatre of Space Museum were all distributed. Some free-admission tickets for the Heritage Museum (Splendour and Mystery of Ancient Shu: Cultural Relics from Sanxingdui and Jinsha), Museum of History, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum and Museum of Coastal Defence are still available for collection from the 34 URBTIX outlets. The Department encourages members of the public to act fast to get the remaining tickets while stock lasts. The tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Each member of the public can get a maximum of 4 tickets.

The spokesman added that visitors have to produce valid tickets (i.e. free admission tickets) or museum passes for admission to the museums on the two days. Weekly Passes, however, cannot be used for the Museum of Art's "The Pride of China: Masterpieces of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy of the Jin, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties from the Palace Museum" exhibition and the Science Museum's "Soaring Dinosaurs: Chinese Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Life" exhibition on those two days.
