Tsuen Wan Town Hall Fun Day on December 16

With "In Touch with Music" as the theme, the Tsuen Wan Town Hall Fun Day will be held from 2pm to 5pm next Saturday (December 16) for people to experience the joy of music. Admission is free.

The Wuji Plucked-string Ensemble - a member of the Hong Kong Composers' Guild Limited; the Hong Kong Chamber of Musical Saw; and the Tsuen Wan Culture and Recreation Co-ordinating Association will perform popular Chinese folk songs and Cantonese with various instruments, including the guiro, flute, dulcimer and plucked-string.

The Wuji Plucked-string Ensemble will introduce some pieces that combine Canto-pop and contemporary composition, while the Hong Kong Chamber of Musical Saw has invited Mr Li Yuan Qing, a world master of guiro music to show his skills.

Tsuen Wan Culture and Recreation Coordinating Association Limited will lead 30 students in their first performance in public.

Games and handicraft stalls will be both educational and fun. Participants can learn how to make a djembe (an African hand-drum) and colourful woodblocks. To add colour to the fun day, comical musicians will parade around the plaza of Tuen Mun Town Hall.

For enquiries, please call 2414 0144.

Ends/Wednesday, December 6, 2006
