LCSD heated swimming pools open in winter

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will provide heated swimming facilities in 15 public swimming pools this winter.

Apart from daily regular cleaning work, a special cleaning operation will continue at the pools every week to ensure hygiene.

Ten of the 15 swimming pools - Morrison Hill Swimming Pool, Island East Swimming Pool, Kowloon Park Swimming Pool, Tai Kok Tsui Swimming Pool, Ho Man Tin Swimming Pool, Hammer Hill Road Swimming Pool, Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool, Fanling Swimming Pool, Sha Tin Jockey Club Swimming Pool and Tseung Kwan O Swimming Pool - will provide heated swimming facilities starting from tomorrow (November 1).

Except during closure for annual maintenance work, the other five swimming pools will be open on the following dates:

To tie in with pool usage patterns and to meet the demand of morning swimmers and swimming groups for late afternoon and evening training sessions, the weekly cleaning operation will start from 10am and finish before the end of the second session of each individual swimming pool. The pool can then be re-opened at the third session.

The schedule of the weekly cleaning operation is as follows:

Three public swimming pools without heating facilities, Victoria Park, Kennedy Town and Kowloon Tsai will remain open from 6.30am to noon until November 30.
