*************************************************

The Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) will relaunch the Arts and Crafts Fair from January 7 to September 30, 2007, to enrich the artistic experience of visitors.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the fair provides a platform for arts practitioners to show their works and share their creativity with visitors.

Applications are invited from painters, calligraphers, photographers and various craftspeople. The deadline for applications is October 27 and details of operation are:

1) Live Photography Service Stalls

Stalls can operate daily from 10.30am to 10.30pm but must open daily from 8pm to 10pm to offer visitors photo-taking services against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour by night. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $3,000.

2) Live Painting/Portrait/Sketching/Silhouette Cutting/Calligraphy Service Stalls

Stalls can operate daily from 10.30am to 10.30pm but must open from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $2,200.

3) Stalls selling Arts and Crafts made by the Applicants

Stalls must operate from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of $1,400.

Live Photography Service Stalls will only accept applications from individuals, while the other two services will be open for both individuals and organisations.

Applications from organisations are restricted to subvented non-governmental social service organisations, or certified student societies/organisations of registered fine arts/design institutes/faculties.

Applications will be assessed in accordance with the quality and creativity of the products and services provided. When qualified applications exceed the available number of stalls, selection will be determined by drawing lots.

Completed application forms together with the required samples should be delivered by hand to the Enquiries Counter, HKCC, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, by 7pm, October 27.
