Camerata Salzburg to perform all-Mozart programme
Chamber orchestra Camerata Salzburg will give an all-Mozart programme concert in Hong Kong in October.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Camerata will perform four well-loved Mozart masterpieces including Divertimento in D, K136; Violin Concerto No. 5 in A, K219; Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K525; and Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K550.
The Camerata Salzburg, true to its motto "In Search of Excellence", offers top quality concerts with outstanding conductors and soloists and their First Concertmaster, Natalie Chee. Their performance is characterised by the "Camerata Sound", the product of a special musical spirit, whereby each retains their individuality within the ensemble.
More than 50 years of orchestra history have groomed the Camerata into a tradition-filled chamber orchestra. Yet it consists of young, motivated musicians who, according to the Swiss Neue Zrcher Zeitung "play with a commitment and a joy in music-making which is infectious..." Its 24 nationalities reflect their various cultures, while all are united by the universal language of music. It is not surprising that a whole host of well-known international artists are delighted to accept the orchestra's invitation to play.
This season's guests include Julian Rachlin, Rudolf Buchbinder, Christian Arming, Heinrich Schiff, Thomas Quasthoff and Silvain Cambreling.
At the coming concert in Hong Kong, Julian Rachlin will perform with the orchestra. Rachlin has established himself as one of the most charismatic and exciting violinists of his generation. Praised for his masterful interpretations, Rachlin continually brings audiences to their feet in top concert halls throughout the world.
The concert will be staged at 8pm, October 22 (Sunday) at the Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall. Tickets priced at $480, $380, $280 and $200 are now available at all URBTIX outlets. Half-price tickets will be granted to senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for students and CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
