Enrolments invited for Corporate Games
**************************************

Action on the field, cheers from colleagues and the talk of the workplace for weeks all need not wait until the next World Cup Finals. Local commercial and industrial corporations and public organisations are being invited to enrol in the Corporate Games 2006 to keep up staff enthusiasm for sports as participants as well as spectators, and to build winning teams at play as well as at work.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the Corporate Games are entering their 17th year. More than 10,000 participants from about 270 organisations took part last year, testament to the popularity of the Games among the territory's workforce.

The Corporate Games 2006 will be held from October this year to January, 2007. There will be 13 competitive sports events: swimming, track and field, distance running, indoor rowing, badminton, table tennis, tennis, 7-a-side soccer, 11-a-side soccer, basketball, volleyball, snooker and tenpin bowling. A photo contest will be held concurrently to record the best moments of the games. A grand prize presentation ceremony will be held in January, 2007, for the overall group champions.

All sports events will be divided into three groups: organisations with 300 or more employees in Hong Kong will participate in Group A; organisations with less than 300 employees in Hong Kong will take part in Group B; while Group C is for government departments.

Details of the Games and enrolment forms are available at the LCSD's website ( http://www.lcsd.gov.hk ). Completed enrolment forms may be submitted online or mailed to the LCSD's Major Events Section on 2/F, Leisure and Cultural Services Headquarters, 1-3 Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin, New Territories.

The closing date for the first round of enrolment is August 18. In case of oversubscription, the list of participating organisations will be decided by drawing lots.
