Queen of the violin to perform in Hong Kong
"Mutter is the undisputed queen of violin-playing..." The Times
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present "Violin Recital by Anne-Sophie Mutter" in June to bring to Hong Kong music lovers one of the top violin virtuosos of our time.
Mutter received the award "Victories de la Musique" in Strasbourg in February, 2006. Her 2006 concert calendar is an ambitious homage to MozartíŽs violin works, which she performs with pianist Lambert Orkis. The recital tour will take the two musicians to Europe, the USA, Russia, China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Rounding up the tour repertoire is MozartíŽs five violin concertos as well as Orkis' "Sinfonia Concertante". Mutter will be performing these concerts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and the Tivoli symphony Orchestra and she is also in charge of the musical direction.
At the performance in Hong Kong, Mutter and Orkis will perform a Mozart programme including Violin Sonata in F, K376; Violin Sonata in E-flat, K481; Violin Sonata in G, K379; Violin Sonata in E Minor, K304; and Violin Sonata in B-flat, K454.
