Charity Book Sale on February 25 and 26

The annual "Sale of Donated Books" will be held on Saturday and Sunday (February 25-26) from 10am to 6pm at the Exhibition Gallery of the Hong Kong Central Library (G/F, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong), Kai Tak East Sports Centre (30 Luk Hop Street, San Po Kong) and the Main Arena of Yuen Wo Road Sports Centre (8 Yuen Wo Road, Sha Tin, New Territories).

A variety of adults' and children's books including fiction and reference books will be on sale at $5 each with a limit of 30 books for each buyer. All proceeds will be donated to The Community Chest of Hong Kong.

People are urged to bring their own bags and not to bring any books into the sales venues. Crowd control measures may be implemented at the sales venues.

Readers can also donate books to all public libraries (except mobile libraries) from now until February 22. The Hong Kong Central Library will accept books until February 26. Adults' and children's books on general subjects are welcome. Magazines, primary and secondary school textbooks, exercise books and audio-visual materials will not be accepted.

The Book Donation and Sale Campaign is jointly organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Home Affairs Department and 18 District Councils, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hongkong Post, The Community Chest of Hong Kong and the Agency for Volunteer Service to promote reading, book sharing and helping the needy.

For enquiries, call 2921 0221.
