Opening hours of LCSD sports facilities, booking services during Lunar New Year
*************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (January 27) announced opening hours of its recreation and sports facilities during the Lunar New Year.

All department parks and playgrounds will remain open during the Lunar New Year.

The sports facilities, LCSD Leisure Link booking office and the URBTIX outlet at Queen Elizabeth Stadium will operate as usual throughout the Lunar New Year.

LCSD Leisure Link booking offices at other venues will be closed during the Lunar New Year holidays (January 29 to 31) but will resume service at those venues scheduled to be re-opened on the third day of the Lunar New Year (January 31).

Leisure Link Internet and telephone booking services will operate as usual throughout the Lunar New Year.

Lodgings will not be provided at the department's holiday camps from Lunar New Year's Eve (January 28). The holiday camps will be closed during the Lunar New Year holidays.

In general, sports centres, various fee charging land-based facilities, swimming pools, and water sports centres will be closed during the Lunar New Year holidays. Services at gazetted beaches will be suspended during the period. Stadiums and sports grounds will also be closed unless advance bookings have been made.

For convenience, 28 sports centres, 13 turf pitch venues, 21 squash venues, 19 tennis venues, the bowling greens at Island East Sports Centre, and Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre will be re-opened earlier on the third day of the Lunar New Year (January 31).

Opening hours of the recreation and sports venues during the Lunar New Year holidays have been posted at all the venues and uploaded onto the department's website http://www.lcsd.gov.hk .
