'Dance Around The World' unveils Tsuen Wan Town Hall Plaza
*****************************************************

Tsuen Wan Town Hall will host a "Dance Around The World" Fun Day from 2.35pm to 6pm on Christmas Eve, December 24 (Saturday) to celebrate the opening of its new open-air Plaza.

The fun day will also provide visitors with an opportunity to experience the beauty and rhythm of dance. Admission is free.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Tsuen Wan Town Hall last year launched a large scale refurbishment which has revitalised the venue's image and services. Construction of the new open-air plaza was completed earlier this month (December). The new facility provides additional leisure space and an outdoor performing venue to the Tsuen Wan District. Saturday's Fun Day is presented as finale of the Tsuen Wan Town Hall's 25th anniversary celebration programmes.

Various Tsuen Wan district groups have been invited to participate in the celebration. Performances including children's modern dance by the Tsuen Wan Culture & Recreation Co-ordinating Association, Chinese traditional dance by Yuen Hai Artiste Troupe and lion dance by Tsuen Wan Public School will be featured at the opening ceremony.

Hong Kong Dance Federation will present a gala performance of different ethnic dances. Performers in unique ethnic costumes will showcase a variety of more than 20 traditional dances of East and West, including Chinese ethnic minority groups, South East Asia, Europe and America.

The federation has also organised a demonstration of ballroom dances and people are welcome to join. Other attractions include roving comedy show as well as handicraft and game stalls.
