'Friends of HK Cultural Centre' invites 2006 membership
The "Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre" scheme, which fosters the link between the centre and the public and promotes appreciation and interest in performing arts, is now open for enrolment of membership for 2006.
Members can enjoy a full package of exclusive benefits such as 10% ticket discounts on most of the cultural programmes presented or sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), including the Violin Recital by Itzhak Perlman, Actors in Miltary Roles by the Peking and Kunqu Opera Wuzheng and the Tianjin Peking Opera Theatre, The 30th Hong Kong International Film Festival as well as other excellent sponsors' programmes.
Other benefits include special discounts on purchases of books, gifts, musical instruments and scores, jewellery, CDs, art works and Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Pass, discounts on art and cultural courses, magazine subscriptions, and special offers from hotels and restaurants.
Members will also have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals, lectures and demonstrations, visit art institutes and take a free guided tour of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
The Friends' monthly newsletter and events calendar will keep members informed of the latest arts programmes.
Applicants who enrol before January 1, 2006, and correctly answer the quiz on the enrolment form will be entitled to enter a lucky draw. Prizes include hotel accommodation and dining coupons, Hong Kong Disneyland admission tickets, musical instruments, jewellery, arts courses, programme tickets and more.
Those who enrol now will receive either a tool set or manicure kit while stocks last.
Annual membership fees for "Friends of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre" is $150 for individuals, $220 for joint members, and $70 for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and full-time students. Membership is from January 1 to December 31, 2006.
