Renowned Beijing Dance Academy to showcase classical Chinese dance
****************************************

For the past 50 years, Beijing Dance Academy has been renowned as the cradle of dancers in China.

Hong Kong audiences will see why in November when the academy's Youth Dance Company performs "Classical Chinese Dance Showcase", featuring various award-winning repertoires and new works.

Led by Pang Dan as the company director, there are seven principal dancers who are the winners of "Lotus Award", "Taoli Award", Beijing and National Dance Competitions.

The company performs different repertoires in each show varying from group dance, solo dance, pas de deux to pas de trios.

A dance institute of higher learning in Mainland China, the Beijing Dance Academy has groomed numerous dance talents who have harvested a host of awards in various national and international dance competitions. The Youth Dance Company, composed of teachers, graduates and students from the academy, has been well received with their innovative repertoires, sophisticated presentations and superb techniques. It has given highly successful performances in the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, Spain, Romania, Belarus, Japan and South Korea, winning acclaim as "the first dance troupe with an academic, intellectual aura in China".
