One-girl band "the pancakes" to give reverie concerts
*****************************************************

Having played to a full house in 2003, the one-girl band "the pancakes", with special guests and local musicians, will give two concerts - reverie concert series no6 "loons under the moon" - next month (September).

Special supporting acts "malfunction" and "my little airport" will be performed for the first show, while "false alarm" and "fama" will be featured in the second.

Other performers will include H (from "taitaufat", "monogel") and ma lap yin (from "gayamyan") on guitar, CM (from "taitaufat") on bass, chris ho (from "vibration") on keyboard and piano, wong stephane s. (from "picasso horses") on drums, and DJ tommy on part-time scratching. There will also be performance by undisclosed musicians - a pleasant surprise for audiences.

The one-girl band "the pancakes", founded by a young musician and composer dejay, teamed up with a Spanish recording company to explore the European markets in 2000. The band has already released eight albums and her reverie concert series no. 1 to 5 in Hong Kong were played to full houses. Her compositions have often been commissioned by public organisations as well as for commercial advertising, gaining her a reputation in local music circles.

Recently, "the pancakes" recorded tracks for the film "My Life as Mcdull" and "Mcdull, Prince de la Bun" and won the Best Original Film Song at the 24th Hong Kong film awards for the song "gum gum gum" from the film "Mcdull, prince de la bun".

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, reverie concert series no. 6 "loons under the moon" will be held at 8pm on September 23 and 24 (Friday and Saturday) at the Theatre, Ko Shan Theatre.
