Bloodworms found in crevices at Fanling Swimming Pool

A few bloodworms were discovered this afternoon (August 12) in Fanling Swimming Pool managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD).

The bloodworms were found at 1.15pm at the crevices underneath the concrete platform separating the Main and Secondary pools when the pool staff carried out cleaning work on the pool deck.

The pool staff promptly cleaned up the bloodworms. On thorough inspection of pools in the pool complex and areas in the vicinity, no bloodworms were spotted.

As the bloodworms were not found in the pool water, the Fanling Swimming Pool is open to the public as usual.

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and Electrical and Mechanical Services Department were approached for assistance in the inspection of the hygiene condition and the filtration system of the pools.

Meanwhile, cleaning work of the pool will be further stepped up to ensure cleanliness.
