Guided visit to Green Education and Resource Centre opens for enrolment

Schools and organisations interested in joining free guided visits to the Green Education and Resource Centre at Kowloon Park, Tsim Sha Tsui, from September 2005 to May 2006 are invited to submit applications by fax or mail starting next Monday (August 15).

Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the centre aims to promote greening and increase public awareness on greening and environmental protection through organising free exhibitions and talks.

The centre also arranges free guided visits for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, and organisations. Participants will be briefed about the contents of the exhibitions, and horticultural talks or workshops will be organised to enhance their knowledge of greening.

The guided visits are available from Tuesdays to Fridays, with two one-hour sessions each day in the morning and afternoon. The number of participants for each session should not exceed 45 and they should be under the supervision of at least one teacher or representative from the organisation during the visit.

For details, please refer to the website http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/green/gerc/en in which application forms can be downloaded.

Completed application forms should be submitted by fax (2367 0556) starting 9am on August 15, or mail to Green Education and Resource Centre, 1/F, Kowloon Park Management Office, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

For enquiries, please call 2723 6767 during office hours.

Green Education and Resource Centre's facilities include an exhibition gallery, lecture rooms and a reference library. The centre opens from 9:30am to 5pm on Tuesdays to Sundays (closed on Mondays).
