Training, Leisure and Water Slide Pools of Shing Mun Valley Swimming
Pool Reopened
*********************************************************************

The training pool, leisure pool and water slide pool of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's (LCSD) Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool were reopened to swimmers at 7.30 pm today (July 9).

After one bloodworm was found in the training pool at about 10.58 am, the training pool, leisure pool and water slide pool which use the same filtration system were temporarily closed for cleansing and superchlorination.

Staff of the LCSD and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) have thoroughly inspected the pool complex and found no more bloodworm in the water of the pools. But some stagnant water and a small number of mosquitoes and insects were found in the drains near the pool complex boundary wall at the bottom of a slope and in the vicinity area of the water slide on the top of a concrete platform.

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department checked the filtration and sterilisation system and confirmed that it is working properly.

With everything operating normally, the training pool, leisure pool and water slide pool were reopened to swimmers at 7.30 pm.

Related notices have been put up at the entrance to Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool.
