Report of one bloodworm found in Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool

One bloodworm was discovered in Leisure and Cultural Services Department's (LCSD) Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool this (July 9) morning.

At about 10.58am a swimmer reported to the staff of the swimming pool that one bloodworm was found in the outdoor training pool which is near the planting area of Shing Mun Valley Park.

In accordance with the established hygiene procedures, staff of the pool closed the training pool for cleansing and superchlorination.

Thorough inspection of the pool complex is being carried out. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and Electrical and Mechanical Services Department were approached to assist in the inspection.
