Table tennis and badminton players invited to train for District Teams
**********************************************************************
People with basic skills in table tennis or badminton are welcome to enrol in the District Table Tennis Teams Training Scheme organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) or the District Badminton Teams Training Scheme jointly organised by the LCSD and Hong Kong Badminton Association.
The two annual training schemes aim at enhancing enthusiasm and standard of play in table tennis and badminton and strengthening the sense of belonging within district communities.
Both training schemes are divided into three age groups: Group A (13 to 17 for table tennis; 14 to 19 for badminton), Group B (18 to 34 for table tennis; 20 to 34 for badminton), and Group C (35 or above for table tennis and badminton).
The training fee ranges from $43 to $105 for the District Table Tennis Training Scheme and from $59 to 175 for the District Badminton Training Scheme. The deadline for enrolment is July 29 for table tennis and July 20 for badminton.
Applicants have to pass a screening test on their skills before acceptance. Training will be provided by professional coaches from the Hong Kong Table Tennis Association and Hong Kong Badminton Association. There will be two levels of training, with a qualifying test in between. Participants who proceed to the second level of training will represent their districts in the district table tennis competition or the district badminton competition. All those who complete both levels of training will receive a certificate.
Enrolment forms and prospectuses are available at all District Leisure Services Offices of the LCSD and at the Hong Kong Badminton Association at Room 2005, Sports House, 1 Stadium Path, So Kon Po, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. They can also be downloaded from the LCSD homepage
