Enrolments invited for Corporate Games
**************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting companies and organisations to participate in the 2005 Corporate Games, which get under way in September.

The annual Corporate Games is a series of sports competitions arranged for employers and employees of the local commercial and industrial sectors as well as public organisations. It aims to encourage employers and employees to maintain a habit of regular exercise and to cultivate team spirit.

The Corporate Games is entering its 16th year. The number of participating organisations increased to more than 200 last year, when about 12,000 people took part - a testament to the popularity of the Games among the territory's work force.

Fifteen competitive sports events will be organised this year: swimming, track and field, distance running, indoor rowing, squash, badminton, table tennis, tennis, 7-a-side soccer, 11-a-side soccer, basketball, volleyball, snooker, tenpin bowling and orienteering. Tenpin bowling and orienteering are new events.

The competitions will take place from September this year to January, 2006, at various LCSD venues. A Dynamic Moments Photo Contest will be held concurrently to record the excitement of the games.

An opening ceremony of the Corporate Games 2005 is scheduled for the end of September, 2005. A grand prize presentation ceremony will be held in mid-January, 2006 for the overall champions of each group.

Details of the Games and enrolment forms are available at the LCSD's website ( http://www.lcsd.gov.hk ). Completed enrolment forms may be submitted online or mailed to the LCSD's Major Events Section at 3/F, Leisure and Cultural Services Headquarters, 1-3 Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin, New Territories.

The closing date for the first round of enrolment is July 12 (Tuesday).

For enquiries, please call 2601 7673.
