LCSD venues co-partner with groups to promote arts

Local artist groups "Spring-Time Experimental Theatre", "Love and Faith Cantonese Opera Laboratory" and "E-Side Modern Dance Company" will partner the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) in promoting arts under the Programme Partnership Scheme.

Launched by the LCSD, the Programme Partnership Scheme aims to promote arts in the community and maximise use of venue facilities and resources. This year, the scheme will run at Yuen Long Theatre and Tuen Mun Town Hall, North District Town Hall and Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.

"We believe that the programme partner will help develop and build up the image of the civic centre, promote arts and build up an audience in the local community more effectively in the long run," a department spokesman said.

"Spring-Time Experimental Theatre", the Programme Partner of Yuen Long Theatre and Tuen Mun Town Hall, will launch a series of programmes from April to December. These programmes include dramas, musicals, subject talks, competitions and exhibitions.

"Love and Faith Cantonese Opera Laboratory" will organise a series of Cantonese opera training classes, workshops, make-up classes and guided- performances at North District Town Hall from end of March to December. Trainees will also be able to join the experimental performances with the professionals.

From now to November, the Programme Partner of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre "E-Side Modern Dance Company" will organise a variety of training courses, workshops and performances. It will also invite some local famous artist groups to stage various performances from dance, musical, drama to multimedia theatre.

For enquiries, please call 2450 3145 (Yuen Long Theatre and Tuen Mun Town Hall), 2671 4400 (North District Town Hall) and 2326 7750 (Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre).
