Sale of Donated Books on Saturday and Sunday

The charity "Sale of Donated Books", will be held this Saturday and Sunday (February 26 and 27) from 10am to 6pm at the Exhibition Gallery of the Hong Kong Central Library, Boundary Street Sports Centre No 1 (near the Flower Market) and the Main Arena of the Yuen Wo Road Sports Centre (near Shatin Rural Committee Road).

So far, about 220,000 adults' and children's books including fiction and reference books have been donated for sale at $5 each. All proceeds will go to The Community Chest of Hong Kong.

Members of the public are urged to bring their own bags and not to bring any books into the sales venues. Crowd control measures may be implemented at the sales venues.

The Book Donation and Sale Campaign is jointly organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Home Affairs Department and 18 District Councils, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hongkong Post, The Community Chest of Hong Kong and the Agency for Volunteer Service with an aim to promoting reading, book sharing and helping the needy.
