Outstanding service by LCSD staff recognised

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (February 22) presented annual Work Improvement Team (WIT) Awards to staff members, praising them for their excellence in improving service quality of parks and playgrounds.

The WIT Awards were set up to nurture a good service culture among staff by recognising teams with outstanding performance in work improvement. The awardees were presented with trophies and gift vouchers.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony, the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Ms Anissa Wong Sean-yee, said the department and its staff attached great importance to the provision of customer-oriented services.

"A number of new facilities and services have been introduced in parks and playgrounds in recent years to enhance customer services," Ms Wong said. These included construction of pebble paths, installation of baby changing counters in public toilets, and beautifying parks and playgrounds with abandoned materials. While meeting the demand of the public, all these improvements were well-received.

"All improvements added to parks and playgrounds are the result of staff initiatives and innovative ideas. These new features will also further improve the quality of services to the public," Ms Wong said.

This year's overall champion, the Gold Award of the WIT Awards, went to Tuen Mun Park for their outstanding achievement in facility improvements, which included extension of the Reptile House and setting up of the Rose Corner, team work and image building, etc.
