Opening hours of LCSD recreation and sports venues during Lunar New Year

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (February 3 ) announced the opening hours of its recreation and sports venues during the Lunar New Year.

Recreation and sports venues, including sports centres, various land based facilities, heated swimming pools, and water sports centres will be closed during the Lunar New Year holidays (February 9 to 11). The services at public beaches will be suspended during the period. Stadiums and sports grounds will also be closed unless advance booking has been made.

Lodgings will not be provided at holiday camps from Lunar New Year's Eve (February 8) to the third day of the Lunar New Year holidays (February 11).

The sports facilities, LCSD Leisure Link and URBTIX advance booking services at Queen Elizabeth Stadium will be suspended from 5pm on New Year's Eve and will resume on the second day of the Lunar New Year (February 10).

Meanwhile, 28 sports centres, 12 turf pitch venues, 21 squash venues,18 tennis venues, the bowling greens at Island East Sports Centre, and Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre will be re-opened early on the third day of the Lunar New Year.

During the holidays, all parks and playgrounds of LCSD will remain open. Notices of opening hours of LCSD recreation and sports venues during the Lunar New Year holidays have been posted at all the venues. LCSD Leisure Link booking services at all venues will be suspended during the Lunar New Year holidays but will resume service at those venues scheduled to be re-opened on the third day of the Lunar New Year.

Leisure Link Internet and telephone booking services will operate as usual throughout the Lunar New Year.
