China Chongqing Girls' Acrobatics Art Troupe will give three exciting, high-flying shows in Hong Kong next month.

The performances will take place at the Shatin Town Hall auditorium (Friday, February 25), and the Tsuen Wan Town Hall auditorium (Saturday, February 26) and Yuen Long Theatre (Sunday, Feburary 27) auditorium. The shows will start at 8pm.

The programme will feature award-winning pieces "Glittering Meteors", "Circling in the Air", "Diabolo Playing", "Foot Juggling with Kid", "Hoops Jumping-through", "Balancing Objects on the Head" and "Grand Springboard".

Founded in 1997, China Chongqing Girls' Acrobatics Art Troupe has received great acclaim and many local and international awards. The members have been strictly trained in physical strength, dance and demeanour despite their average age of being just 12.

The troupe is well known for its artistry. In 2002, it was invited to perform with great success in Korea and Japan to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Sino-Korean diplomatic relations and the 30th Anniversary of the Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. In the same year, the troupe visited India and Bangladesh with the former Premier Zhu Rongji. Later it performed "The Peaceful Asians" which was specially produced for the occasion of the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Association of Asian Parliaments for Peace (AAPP) in April. The performance received standing ovations and the troupe was received by Li Peng, former Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples' Congress. In May, 2002, the troupe gave a command performance for former President Jiang Zemin, and was received in person by Mr Jiang after the performance.
