To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tsuen Wan Town Hall, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organise an exhibition and various cultural and entertainment programmes.

"Silver Memory - Tsuen Wan Town Hall 25th Anniversary Exhibition" will be held at the Exhibition Gallery from January 28 to February 25 to enhance the audiences' knowledge on the development of the Town Hall.

It will feature the history of the Town Hall and the cultural development of Tsuen Wan District, the programme highlights of the Town Hall, and the new look of the Town Hall after renovation. Lighting and sound equipments used in the old days will be displayed and a video on the history of the Town Hall will be shown.

The Melody Harmonica Band will perform at 3pm on February 5, and the Hong Kong Festival Fringe Ltd. will have a magic show at 4pm on February 20 at the Exhibition Gallery.

The Exhibition Gallery opens from 10am to 8pm. It will open from 10am to 5pm on February 8 (Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve) and will close from February 9 to 11 during the Lunar New Year holidays.

In addition, two celebration programmes will be held at the Auditorium of the Town Hall. Two local artists groups, the Yuen Hai Artiste Troupe and the Cultural Association of Music and Arts, will perform Chinese dance and folk songs at 7.30pm on February 7. The Tsuen Wan District Culture and Recreation Co-ordinating Association will have children's choir and Chinese music performance at 7.30pm on February 20.

Free admission tickets for these two programmes will be available at the Town Hall tomorrow (January 25) and on February 3. Each person is entitled to have two tickets per programme on a first-come-first-served basic. Each audience is also entitled to have a souvenir.

From February to April, there will be a series of programmes to celebrate the Town Hall's 25th anniversary. They include Cartoon de Salvo (UK), a children show by Theatre Ensemble, Go Sing Cantonese Opera Troupe, China Chongqing Girl's Acrobatics Art Troupe and You Ya in Concert.
