Book donations wanted for charity sale

Book collection for the Book Donation & Sale Campaign 2005, which aims to promote reading, book sharing and help the needy, is now on.

The campaign is jointly presented by the Hong Kong Public Libraries of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Home Affairs Department and 18 District Councils, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hongkong Post, The Community Chest of Hong Kong and Agency for Volunteer Service. All books will be sold at $5 each with the proceeds donated to The Community Chest of Hong Kong.

People are encouraged to donate books to all public libraries (except mobile libraries) from now until February 23. Adult's and children's books on general subjects are welcome except textbooks for primary and secondary schools, exercise books, magazines and audio-visual materials.

Donated books will be put on sale for charity on February 26 and 27 (Saturday and Sunday) from 10am to 6pm at the following venues:

1. Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Central Library -- G/F, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

2. Boundary Street Sports Centre No.1 -- 200 Sai Yee Street, Kowloon (near Flower Market).

3. Main Arena, Yuen Wo Road Sports Centre -- 8 Yuen Wo Road, Shatin, New Territories (near Shatin Rural Committee Road).
