December
Dianne Reeves' concert moved to Shatin on January 19
****************************************************

The finale of the star-studded Jazz Up series 2004-05, "Concert by Dianne Reeves" has been rescheduled for January 19, 2005 (Wednesday) at the Auditorium, Shatin Town Hall at 8pm.

A spokesman for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) said the arrangement had been made because of the temporary closure of the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall for urgent maintenance after a fire in early December.

Recognised as one of jazz's pre-eminent vocalists, Dianne Reeves' rhythmic virtuosity and improvisational ease are breathtaking.

Reeves is the only singer to have won a Grammy for "Best Jazz Vocal Performance" for three consecutive recordings: "In The Moment - Live in Concert" (2000), "The Calling: Celebrating Sarah Vaughn" (2001) and "A Little Moonlight" (2003). She is the only recording artist in any singing category to have accomplished such a feat with three records in a row.

In 2002, Reeves performed at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. She also received the Ella Fitzgerald Award at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and sang on the top-rating TV series, "Sex & the City".

Patrons who already have tickets can use them for the rescheduled concert. Those who are not able to attend the rescheduled concert may arrange for a refund by presenting the original tickets at the box offices of Hong Kong Cultural Centre (10am to 9.30pm) or Sheung Wan Civic Centre (10am to 6.30pm) from December 29, 2004 to January 18, 2005.

Tickets at $400, $280 and $150 are now available at URBTIX outlets. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. A 10% discount applies to Friends of LCSD performing venues.

For programme enquiries, call 2268 7321 or visit http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/cp . Ticketing enquiries and reservations can be made on 2734 9009 and credit card telephone bookings on 2111 5999.
