Fun Day at Sheung Wan Civic Centre to celebrate re-opening
********************************************************

The Sheung Wan Civic Centre (SWCC) will be re-open for public hiring and use in mid-December, providing better service with its enhanced facilities after renovation.

To celebrate the re-opening, SWCC will organise a Fun Day on Sunday (December 12) from 2pm to 5pm. There will be a series of cultural performances by the Central & Western District Children's Choir, Central & Western District Children Dancing Troupe, Hong Kong Southern District Orchestra, Tin Ma Music & Opera Association and the Choi Fung Cheung Opera Troupe.

Audiences can also enjoy a wide spectrum of entertaining programmes such as delightful saxophone music, funny cartoon mascot parade, balloon twisting, magic show and pottery making.

With the installation of new lighting, natural light, simple color tone and upgraded building materials, the newly renovated foyer on the centre's fifth floor is endowed with a modernistic atmosphere.

In addition, various improved works have been made in the lecture hall and theatre on the fifth floor including new seating facilities and layout for audience and the disabled, computerised stage lighting, multi-channel sound reinforcement system and backstage support facilities.

After renovation, the sixth floor exhibition hall can now be partitioned into smaller hiring units to cater for the needs of exhibitions, educational and academic activities.

For enquires, please call 2853 2678 (booking services), 2853 2668 (Fun Day) or visit the SWCC website: http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/swcc .
