"Friends of HK Cultural Centre" invites membership

The "Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre" scheme, which fosters the link between the Centre and the public and promotes appreciation and interest in arts, is now open for enrolment of membership valid from January 1 to December 31, 2005.

Members can enjoy a full package of exclusive benefits such as 10% ticket discounts on most of the cultural programmes presented or sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and special discounts on purchases of CDs, books, gifts, musical instruments and scores, jewellery, art works as well as Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Pass.

Other benefits include discounts on art and cultural courses, magazine subscriptions and studio hire, and special offers from prestigious hotels and restaurants.

Members will also have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals, lectures and demonstrations of the performing arts, to visit art institutes and to take a free guided tour of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

The Friends' monthly newsletter and events calendar will keep them informed of the latest arts programmes.

Applicants who enrol before January 1, 2005, and correctly answer the quiz on the enrolment form will be entitled to enter a lucky draw. Prizes include hotel accommodation and dining coupons, valuable tea making tools, musical instruments, jewellery, arts courses and CDs.

Those who enrol now will receive a genuine leather wristwatch as a souvenir while stocks last.

The annual membership fee for "Friends of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre" is $150 for individuals, $220 for joint members, and $70 for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and full-time students.

Enrolment forms are available at all LCSD's performing venues. They can also be downloaded from the website http://www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk .
