Action-packed programme offered for adventure and sports
********************************************************

A series of outdoor camping and sport activities will be provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) to camping enthusiasts at a three-day camp at Lady MacLehose Holiday Village at the end of December.

The Camp for Adventure and Sports 2004 will not only provide a good setting for the participants to widen their interest in sport, but also encourage them to form a habit of doing exercise regularly.

An LCSD spokesman said the camping activities had been designed with a different theme each year.

"This year, we will place special emphasis on providing an opportunity for the participants to get close to nature while enjoying the fun of outdoor activities that are suitable for people aged from six to 59."

In the camp, he said, the participants can try different kinds of activities, including sports climbing, adventure games, general gymnastics, archery, shuttlecock, table-tennis, soft volleyball, dancing night and tele-match games.

"By taking part in these activities, participants will appreciate the benefit of team spirit," the spokesman added.

Applications to join the Camp for Adventure and Sports 2004 should be submitted by an applicant aged 18 or above, on behalf of a team of three to eight members. The fee per head is $243 for those aged 14 to 59, and $193 for those aged 6 to 13 and full-time students. The fee covers meals and accommodation.

Forms are now available at the LCSD's District Leisure Services Offices in the 18 districts. Completed application forms should reach Lady MacLehose Holiday Village, Pak Tam, Sai Kung, New Territories either by mail or by fax to 2792 0254, on or before November 8, 2004.

Quotas for the camp will be allocated by drawing lots if the number of applications exceeds the maximum capacity of the camp site.

Enquiries can be made on 2792 3084.
