Ma On Shan Recreation Ground opens to public
*********************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department's newly opened Ma On Shan Recreation Ground provides various outdoor leisure and sports facilities for people of all ages.

Situated next to the Ma On Shan Sports Ground, the 4.1-hectare recreation ground is the first department recreation ground in the area with a mix of outdoor ball-game facilities.

The ground is equipped with an 11-a-side artificial turf soccer pitch, two outdoor tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts and a seven-a-side hard-surface soccer pitch.

Also, there is a children's play area, elderly exercise stations and a pebble path.

"The range of facilities means there is something to suit everyone," a department spokesman said.

"The public will be able to keep healthy through regular exercises," he said.

The tennis courts, basketball courts and seven-a-side soccer pitch are open daily from 7am to 11pm while the 11-a-side soccer pitch will be open from 8am to 11pm.

Members of the public can make reservations and enquiries about charges for the 11-a-side artificial turf soccer pitch and the outdoor tennis courts 30 days in advance via the ESD Life website, the Leisure Link Telephone Booking Hotline and all Leisure Link outlets.

The outdoor basketball courts and the seven-a-side soccer pitch are free of charge. Interested parties should approach the Sha Tin District Leisure Services Office at Unit 7 - 12, Level 12, Tower I Grand Central Plaza, 138 Rural Committee Road, Shatin, New Territories. The office is open from 8.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays and from 8.30am to noon on Saturdays.

The Ma On Shan Recreation Ground is located at 1 Hang Hong Street, Ma On Shan, Shatin, New Territories. Enquiries can be made on 2633 0647.
