Temporary closure of facilities at Fat Kwong Street Sports Centre

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (October 11) that Fat Kwong Street Sports Centre in Kowloon City will be closed in phases from October 13, 2004 to late January, 2005 for improvement works. The schedule is as follows:

Facilities Closure period

I) Lobby on G/F October 13 to late November
Lift lobby on 9/F
Booking office on 9/F

II) Fitness room October 13, 2004 to early
Activity room January, 2005
Arena lobby on 9/F
Male and female toilets and changing rooms

III)Arena October 13, 2004 to late
Squash courts January, 2005
Table-tennis room

Meanwhile, Leisure Link on-the-spot and advanced booking services at the sports centre will be suspended during the period the booking counter is closed.

Training courses and activities that were scheduled to be held at the sports centre will be cancelled or temporarily relocated to other sports centres in Kowloon City District.
