Secret Garden, Ding Fei Fei and Ding Wei open New Vision Festival

A festival update showcasing the opening programme by Secret Garden, Ding Fei Fei and Ding Wei, plus other attractions of "New Vision Arts Festival", is now available for pick-up at the performing arts venues of Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

The New Vision Arts Festival organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will run from October 19 to November 21, 2004, showcasing a selection of cross-cultural performing arts programmes with a focus on Asian arts.

Secret Garden, Ding Fei Fei and Ding Wei -- a cross-cultural collaboration in music, will mark the opening of the "New Vision Arts Festival" on October 19 and 20.

Other overseas productions include:
* Tan Dun's Organic Music with Symphonic Multi-media "The Map" & "Paper Concerto" in collaboration with Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
* "Around the Musical World in 2 Nights" featuring Wu Tong, Todd Reynolds, David Cossin and Evan Ziporyn.
* Modern Chamber Opera "Opiume" by Checkpoint Theatre (Singapore).
* U Theatre of Taiwan's "Meeting with Vajrasattva"
* Sal Vanilla's (Japan) "amplified"
* "Tamashy -- Voices of the Heart" by Yamato: The drummers of Japan
* "Iln'y a plus de firmament (No More Heavens)" co-produced by Theatre Vidy-Lausanne ETE (Switzerland), Theatre de la Ville - Paris (France) and Berliner Festwochen (Germany).

Local performances include:
* Edward Lam Dance Theatre's "The Great Entertainer".
* Mui Cheuk-yin Dance Poetry Theatre: "" by Mui Cheuk-yin and Priscilla Leung.
* Yeung Wai-mei Solo Dance "Spiritual Girl".
* Theatre du Pif's "e never forgets".
* Hong Kong Repertory Theatre's "Rotate 270 degrees".
* Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra's "Yan Huichang and Wang Yong in Dimensional Pursuits".
