Lifeguard services at some LCSD beaches suspended

Attention Radio and TV Announcers:

Please broadcast the following special announcement as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced this morning (August 6) no lifeguard services will be provided at its 10 beaches this morning.

The affected beaches are:

Middle Bay Beach;
Cafeteria Old Beach;
Cafeteria New Beach;
Golden Beach;
Trio Beach;
Kiu Tsui Beach;
Hap Mun Bay Beach;
Silverstrand Beach;
Clear Water Bay First Beach; and
Clear Water Bay Second Beach.

The department urged swimmers to heed water safety.

Members of the public may call the Government Hotline at 1823 or browse the LCSD's website at http://www.lcsd.gov.hk to enquire about beaches and water sports centres.
