"Body Parts" exhibition postponed

The "Body Parts" exhibition, which was scheduled to open on Friday (July 23) at the Hong Kong Science Museum, has been postponed because some of the exhibits will not be delivered to Hong Kong as scheduled, a spokesman for the museum said.

"The specimens for this exhibition will be provided by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and its partner institute," the spokesman said. The Chinese University is now seeking a replacement contribution from another institute. Once details are finalised, the Science Museum will announce the launch date for the rescheduled exhibition," the spokesman said.

He apologised for the postponement.

The "Body Parts" exhibition aims to introduce the structure and function of the various organs that make up the human body through the display of over 100 anatomical specimens and a computer-generated 3-dimensional virtual human provided by the Chinese University of Hong Kong. By comparing diseased and normal organs, visitors will be able to appreciate the crippling consequences of unhealthy lifestyles.

Ends/July 21, 2004, Wednesday
