"Dreamscape - the Secret Garden of Guizhou" kicks off international arts carnival

An award-winning extravaganza "Dreamscape - the Secret Garden of Guizhou" featuring spectacular acrobatic acts and an hilarious "Summer Fun Party" will be staged at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on July 14 and 15, opening the summer arts festival "International Arts Carnival" presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

"Dreamscape", the only acrobatic programme listed in the Top 10 Outstanding Stage Arts Projects in China 2002/03 is produced by the Zunyi Acrobatic Troupe and Guizhou Provincial Song and Dance Ensemble. The China Culture Post praised it as "the best of its genre in the past decade".

The troupers recount some of the magical ancient tales of Nature, bringing the audiences to a journey of discovery of the beauty of nature through 25 award-winning acrobatic acts and dances. They sing and they somersault. They flip and they skip.

Assisted by creative costumes and stage props, the fun-loving troupers travel back in time and transform themselves into fire gods, flower fairies, goddesses of moon and stars as well as baby dragons. The amazing performance brings together the best of traditional Chinese and modern Western acrobatic movements and choreography.

A special treat "Summer Fun Party" with a variety of sports, arts, and entertainment will be held before the show. Starting from 4.30pm on July 14 and 2pm on July 15, the party will last until 7.30pm.
