Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

Due to large waves, red flags have today (May 8) been hoisted at Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Lo So Shing Beach in Islands District; Shek O Beach, Big Wave Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach, Turtle Cove Beach, Hairpin Beach, St. Stephen's Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, Middle Bay Beach, South Bay Beach, Repulse Bay Beach and Deep Water Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island. It is dangerous to enter the water at these beaches.
